What are smart controls?
Smart Central Heating Controls, such as Hive or nest, is simply a thermostat that can be controlled from a smartphone or other device giving you greater control over your central heating system by allowing you to access your smart thermostat whilst on the move via an app on any wifi enabled device. You simply open the app and can turn your heating/hot water on or off at any time.
Benefits
The technology allows them to learn your daily routine to automatically adjust your heating and hot water so that you always return to a warm home. Equally, it also allows you to turn your heating off if you have accidently left it on. Having instant access to your controls means you will only be using your heating system when you need it, therefore making it much more efficient and cost effective, saving you money on bills.
Also to comply with the new ‘Boiler Plus’ legislation brought in by the government, all combination boilers installed from April 2018 must have additional energy efficiency measures; Installing smart controls complies with this legislation and is recommended as one of the energy saving devices.
